The modern-day Chaos Insurgency bears some similarities to the organization that founded it. This information is classified within the Foundation, which maintains that the Insurgency defected in 1924 and that the actual defections in 1948 were simply raids made by the already-existing splinter organization. All attempts to find, apprehend, or assassinate the defecting Insurgency operatives failed. The motives behind the Insurgency's betrayal remain unknown to the Foundation. The defection or even the slightest hint of disloyalty from Red Right Hand personnel had been unprecedented. Their covert black ops team had defected, and the Foundation faced a new threat from an organization now calling itself by a new name: the Chaos Insurgency. The Foundation's biggest lie had become a reality. The Insurgency seized SCP objects with great research and military potential and inflicted severe casualties to Foundation personnel. That same day, multiple other unplanned raids of Foundation facilities occurred. In 1948, as part of a seemingly routine staged operation, the Insurgency removed several SCP objects from Foundation containment and transported dozens of defecting Foundation researchers to various safe locations. For approximately twenty-four years, the Insurgency operated under the guise of Foundation defectors, using anomalous objects to secretly further the goals of the O5 Council. In reality, the O5 Council had created the Insurgency to complete missions with ethically questionable methods and politically unsavory results-while keeping the Foundation's public reputation clean. with several researchers and anomalous objects. To the majority of the Foundation and the anomalous world, the Insurgency was a splinter group that went A.W.O.L. The Insurgency leadership was supported by research, security, and retrieval personnel, all taken from Foundation ranks. This was fixed during late public beta.In 1924, the SCP Foundation formed a covert special task force, known only to the O5 Council, codenamed the "Insurgency." The leadership of the Insurgency was comprised of members of MTF Alpha-1, the Red Right Hand, famed for their loyalty to the O5 Council and the total secrecy of their origins, identities, and operations. With Repressor used on the Shotgunner and Maruader used on the Logicer sub-class. For majority of 11.0 Beta, Maruader and Repressor were used on the wrong sub-class.It was changed as the devs wanted the word to be three syllables. The winner for the name for Rifleman was actually the word "Assault" and was suggested by CheeseChurger.Repressor was adapted from the name "Suppressor" which was suggested by Mikel. The Conscript subclass was not originally planned and the idea was instead suggested by the Patreon user Bapple, with the name "Conscript" coming from a Northwood staff member. The Chaos Subclass names were chosen by an event where Patreon would suggest them via discord, then they were voted on by staff and Patreons.Prior to the 11.0.0, Chaos Insurgent sub-classes did not exists, and every Insurgent would spawn with a Logicer.

Chaos Insurgents and SCPs can ignore each other, despite both of their objectives clashing.Respawning as Chaos will grant the CHAAOOOOS! achievement. However, this 'element of surprise' is more often ruined due to the loud and distinct noises of their boots while walking on the floor. Upon spawning, the Insurgency has the advantage of surprise, as only the Class-D and other Chaos will be notified of their arrival via a subtle music cue ( SCP-079 can tell if Chaos spawned by checking its map, but cannot hear the same cue). Regardless, Chaos Insurgents should still remain cautious of SCPs, as SCPs are required to kill any Class-Ds to achieve a " SCP Victory". This will then turn the Scientist into Chaos, while also giving the Chaos two Respawn Tickets.Ĭhaos Insurgents are neutral to SCPs, meaning that both factions can choose to either co-operate or fight with each other. Their goal is to rescue all remaining Class-Ds, and escort them to the Surface, while also eliminating any opposing forces left in the round ( MTF, Facility Guards, Scientists, or hostile SCPs).Ĭhaos Insurgents win with a " Insurgency Victory" if the amount of D-Class escapes are higher than the amount of Scientist escapes, and all other Foundation Personnel are died.Ĭhaos can also choose to instead disarm Scientist and let them escape while detained. Chaos Insurgents will spawn in later during a round as a reinforcement group (The 3 different sub-classes will spawn with different items).
